A previous post, “Where to Park you Porsche,” asserted that some parking spots are indeed better than others. The post was our most popular to date, so it seemed wise to revisit the simple concept of gorgeous cars parked in gorgeous carports. Please enjoy.

“Porsches in Portland”

This gable-roofed gem was originally designed by Saul Zaik in 1956. The Southwest Portland home has been tastefully renovated by Jessica Helgerson Design. A vibrant pair of Porsches (356 and 911T) seem to be well appreciated by the younger generation.

“Harpel House Perfection”

It doesn’t really get any better that John Lautner’s Harpel House. The home was built in 1956 for Willis “Bill” Harpel, a Los Angeles radio announcer. Mark Haddawy bought the house in 2006 and pursued a meticulous (and ambitious) restoration project. Haddawy’s 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta is the cherry on top.

“Mercer Modern”

The Wood Block residence, located on the west side of Mercer Island, sports one of the most stunning carports ever. The home is a reconstruction of an archive design by architect Fred Bassetti. The juxtaposition of the lush forest, modern lines, and the silver Lotus make for a particularly pleasant scene.
